Floating surface aerators are great for people looking for display and functionality in an aerator.  Most systems utilize a pump that is situated under a float that pulls water from beneath the surface and sprays it into the air.  As the water crashes back down onto the surface of the pond it creates an agitation effect which allows for oxygen transfer and gas venting. These display type aerators are fairly easy to install and are best suited for shallow ponds of less than 6-8 feet deep as they typically only aerate the top level of the pond.
