Pond Keeper White Carbon Zeolite

Pond Keeper White Carbon Zeolite is a filter media used to remove ammonia from ponds. It works much faster in removing ammonia than nitrifying bacteria and will help keep ammonia levels in check while the biological filter is being established. It also provides excellent surface area for the establishment of nitrifying bacteria. It is ideal for short term ammonia control or long term biological filtration.

APPLICATION

1 lb (2 cups) of Pond Keeper White Carbon Zeolite carbon will remove 3 ppm of ammonia from 100 gallons of pond water.

Place zeolite in a mesh bag and put in the media compartment of your filter or below a waterfall. For the zeolite to be effective water needs to consistently pass through it.

Zeolite can be cleaned and recharged for continued use by removing it from the pond and soaking it in a strong saltwater solution for 24 hours. The saltwater causes the zeolite to release the ammonia from its surface. Discoloration (yellowish tint) or even odor from the pond may indicate the zeolite needs to be recharged or replaced.

For best results, completely replace the zeolite every 3-4 months.

NOTE: Rinse zeolite off thoroughly every time prior to adding to the pond.
